This week saw the introduction of our new winter menu and the response from Woollahra locals & our loyal customers has been fantastic!
We opened over four months ago with our highly successful summer menu, showcasing traditional dishes as well as lighter options. Sydney Morning Herald Good Food approved it, Broadsheet raved about it and most importantly you fell in love with it. So we were quite reluctant for the change.
However, our head chef Lee James along with Henrik Ahlen and Kasia decided it was time to bring out the big guns. Our traditional own family receipe Gulasz is most popular, as is the W Signature Lunch Platter. And for something lighter, the warm Duck Confit Salad with Blood Orange Glaze and Alfalfa (pictured) hits the spot on a cold winter's day. Not to let the traditionalists down, our popular classic dishes such as Pierogi and Cabbage Rolls are still available during winter.
The winter menu is also a reflection of team W and our journey together thus far. When we sampled Henrik's famous Swedish Meatballs (köttbullar), we knew they had to be a permanent dish on our menu. Lee's attention to detail is showcased in every single dish that is served and his next seasonal menu- spring, is already in planning.
We are proud of our kitchen team and proud to be apart of the dynamic and vibrant world of modern Eastern European-Australian cuisine!
Winter has never tasted this good!
